FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner and defender Henry Kessler have been called into the United States Men’s National Team for its December camp, culminating with a friendly match on Saturday, December 18 vs. Bosnia & Herzegovina (8:00 p.m. ET – FS1, UniMás, TUDN).

Turner, 27, owns a 9-1-2 record with eight shutouts across 12 starts with the United States. His latest action came in October with two starts in FIFA World Cup Qualifying matches. Turner backstopped the Stars and Stripes to a 2-0 victory over Jamaica on Oct. 7 before making three saves in a 1-0 defeat at Panama on Oct. 10. In September, Turner started the first three games for the U.S. Men’s National Team in Concacaf’s final round of FIFA World Cup Qualifying. Turner established himself on the international stage as the Best Goalkeeper at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup. The shot-stopper was also available off the bench for a pair of World Cup qualifiers in November.

The Park Ridge, N.J. native and 2021 Allstate MLS Goalkeeper of the Year led the Revolution to an 17-3-7 record in 27 starts this season, his sixth as a pro. The 2021 MLS Best XI selection was instrumental in helping the club’s secure its first Supporters’ Shield title and set a single-season MLS record with 73 points to date. Turner’s 17 wins this season tied for the league lead and set a new club record.

Kessler, 23, earns his second call up to the U.S. Men’s National Team after joining the squad for the knockout stage of the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup in July. The defender made his international debut in the 2021 Gold Cup Final on August 1 against Mexico, entering as a substitute in extra time to help the U.S. defeat Mexico, 1-0, and claim the federation’s seventh Gold Cup title. Kessler was also part of the United States Under-23 squad during Olympic Qualifying in March, playing 270 minutes over three starts.

The New York City native recently concluded his second season with the New England Revolution, appearing in 28 matches with 25 starts for the record-setting team. Kessler enters the December camp with 50 regular season appearances under his belt.
