Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are two clubs that have been synonymous with one another. From the historic and tense Champions League clashes to their transfer dealings, you can certainly say that both clubs go hand-in-hand.

The transfer business between Real and Bayern Munich has been one of benefit for both parties. Los Blancos have acquired Toni Kroos and David Alaba from the German outfit, and it has been business considered nothing short of excellence.

Likewise, Bayern has also benefited from their relationship with Madrid. They have signed the likes of Arjen Robben and Xabi Alonso from the Spanish side, and both have been key players in their own right for the Bavarian side.

There’s certainly no questioning that Real Madrid’s acquired signings from Bayern Munich have proven to work dividends. The signing of Kroos from Bayern in 2014 was considered the “steal of the century” from his agent Volker Struth. Even Alaba’s free transfer in the summer of 2021 can be regarded as a bargain given how well he has performed so far.

Besides their impressive performances, it’s also worth noting that Kroos and Alaba have excelled in their adaptability. It’s not easy to adapt to a new club and country and learn a new language, especially if that club happens to be Real Madrid. Moreover, there’s always going to be nerves when you’re a new signing, but needless to say, Kroos and Alaba have looked like they have been playing in Madrid for a very, very long time.

It’s clear that Los Blancos have benefited from acquiring Bayern Munich stars, and it’s something that the club should continue to pursue for a whole host of reasons.

Bayern players have an elite mentality, and that holds importance at Real Madrid

The track record is there with Kroos and Alaba, and it’s also worth noting that both Real and Bayern Munich are pretty similar in nature. For a player to transition from Bayern to Los Merengues, it wouldn’t necessarily be complex.

Both clubs have the mentality and accord of being the absolute best. The winning mentality is engraved into the Bayern Munich squad, and given how long the club has remained at the top, Bayern players are used to winning. Similarly, it’s also the prestige of playing for a club of Bayern’s stature that has developed their players.

Real Madrid also carries a historical reputation with them, something that holds just as much importance at Bayern and making that transition for a Bayern player would be seamless.

Moreover, the quality of players in Bayern’s squad makes them a club worth looking at in the transfer market. They are an exceptional crop of players that would make a welcome addition to any team. There are several names that Los Blancos can target from Bayern; however, a few make sense. The likes of Leon Goretzka, Dayot Upamecano, and Niklas Süle are all reasonable and realistic targets that would benefit Real Madrid.

Goretzka was recently linked to Los Blancos in the summer 2021 transfer window before signing a new four-year deal with Bayern that would see him remain with the club until 2026. While Goretzka putting pen to paper essentially cooled down the rumors of a departure away from Bayern, he should remain a player that Real Madrid should continue to set their sights on. The German international is a tenacious and physically dominating box-to-box midfielder with excellent technical ability. Goretzka would be a successor to Luka Modrić and Kroos, and given Real Madrid’s aging midfield, it would make sense to acquire a player of his nature.

Upamecano is another player that was linked with Real Madrid before signing for Bayern in the summer of 2021. The former RB Leipzig center back is rapid and possesses tremendous defensive ability. Moreover, his physically dominating frame also helps him in the defensive end.

Targeting Upamenco makes a lot of sense. Real Madrid has been in the market for a center back for a while now, and with Nacho getting older and Jesús Vallejo struggling to make an impact, Upamencano would be the perfect signing for Real.

Finally, should Real Madrid attempt to pull another Alaba-esque transfer, they should look no further than Niklas Süle.

Finding himself in a similar situation to Alaba, Süle could be set to leave Bayern in the summer as a free agent. With his contract set to expire in June of 2022, there will undoubtedly be many potential suitors waiting in line for his signature. Real should keep their eye on Süle, and as mentioned earlier, signing a center back, let alone on a free transfer, would greatly help out Real Madrid.

While there are undoubtedly many more names that could be mentioned on this shortlist, the narrative is relatively straightforward. Real Madrid should be encouraged to keep pursuing Bayern players in transfers.

Next. This is Real Madrid’s biggest problem in December. dark

The track record is there, Bayern carries forth a historical prestige, the winning mentality similar to that of Madrid’s, and the quality of players that Bayern possesses make them a club worth targeting in the transfer window.
