Shakeel Bodden charged with murder in Somerville stabbing of Boston man, officials say; pair believed to have known each other

Prosecutors announced Friday that Shakeel Bodden, a 28-year-old Somerville man, would face a murder charge in connection with the fatal stabbing Thursday night of a 33-year-old man at a Somerville residence.

Police believe that Bodden attacked a yet-unnamed Boston man with a knife inside a home on Munroe Street. The pair knew each other, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.

Officers responded to the house just after 10:30 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls and found the victim with multiple stab wounds. He died at the scene, officials said.

Bodden, meanwhile, was brought to a local hospital with injuries authorities believe he received during the attack. He is being held at the hospital Friday and is expected to be appear in Somerville District Court after being released.
