Trials of Osiris is getting the flavoured editions throughout December 2021 but Bungie already announced when to expect more variations of Destiny 2's PvP activity.

Trials Labs: Freelance is returning to Destiny 2 on December 4, 2021, when another set of changes will be added to the rotating mode. This time around, Bungie is testing additional accessibility as the game will not require you to complete the introductory Trials quest. The only two requirements will be that you own Beyond Light and have a light level of 1290 or higher.

Trials Freelance will return once more on December 31, 2021, and the players will be able to begin the new year all on their own, without having to socialise in order to get a team. Do you need any more proof that Santa is real?

There will be two more occasions in 2022 when Trials Labs will return before the launch of The Witch Queen expansion. Bungie didn't specify the dates here but they did give us a window - Trials Capture Zone and Freelance will each appear in early February 2022, with the expansion coming on February 22, 2022.

Furthermore, the developers will track the map performance for Trials maps and will remove the less popular ones from the rotation. Overall, it looks like bright days are ahead for Trials fans.

As a reminder, you need to own the latest expansion in order to play Trials of Osiris, meaning that you can only play the mode if you own The Witch Queen from February 22 onwards.
