Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street will air a second car accident involving Audrey Roberts, who is refusing to admit her eyesight might be worsening.

In upcoming episodes, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) arrives at the Platt house in a neck brace. She then reveals she has been involved in yet another car accident, following another earlier this year.

Despite this and her daughter Gail Rodwell's (Helen Worth) recent warnings, Audrey is still in denial about her ability to drive a car.

Later on, Audrey accepts that she needs to book an eye test, much to Gail's relief. However, she is scared of losing her independence.

In the first car crash drama a few weeks ago, despite her friend Rita Tanner's (Barbara Knox) attempts to mend things between them, Audrey rejected her and got into the car, ending up causing an accident. After hearing a loud crunch, Gail realised that she had reversed straight into Rita's car.

Furious with Audrey for putting a dent in her car, Rita quizzed her about how the accident happened. When Rita and Gail wondered if she might be losing her faculties, Audrey angrily accused them of being ageist.

It looks like Audrey will eventually agree to put safety first by having her eyes tested, but will she be able to retain her license and will Gail offer any reassurance at such an upsetting time for her mother?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Wednesday, December 15 and Thursday, December 16 at 7.30pm on ITV.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
