The Supreme Court will rule on a law that could gut Roe v. Wade.
The justices heard two hours of oral arguments Wednesday on a law in Mississippi that bans abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy.
The standard set in Roe is that states can't prohibit abortions before 24 weeks.
During arguments on Thursday, all six conservative justices appeared to sound open to upholding Mississippi’s restrictive law.
Maine Senator Susan Collins, whose pivotal vote confirmed Justice Brett Kavanaugh, says he assured her that Roe v. Wade was settled law.
She was asked about that on Thursday.
"Senator Collins do you believe that Kavanagh still sees Roe as settled law following yesterday's remarks?" a CNN reporter asked.
"You know I think we all need to wait and see what the final decision is,” Sen. Collins replied.
If the Supreme Court sides with the Mississippi law, abortion rights under the Roe standard would become a state issue.
