FREEPORT (WGME) -- One of Maine’s most popular holiday celebrations kicks off Friday night.
The Sparkle Celebration in Freeport begins at 6 p.m. with the Sparkle Celebration Parade of Lights, which ends with Santa Claus, who will bring the famous talking Christmas tree to life.
The parade starts on Maple Ave. and goes through Main Street from Maple Ave. to Grove Street.
Holiday festivities continue throughout week, including a holiday decorating contest. Sparkle the Elf will also come back to town with gift certificate giveaways for local businesses.
L.L. Bean’s Northern Lights will also continue to sparkle this holiday season with a life sized snow globe, twinkle light tunnel, and model train village.
The Sparkle Celebration starts at 6 p.m. Friday rain or shine.
