Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made a nod to the late Louis Vuitton creative director Virgil Abloh during a recent day date.

Earlier this week the couple were photographed walking arm in arm through New York days after LVMH announced that Abloh had passed away two years after being diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. The designer is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Shannon (née Sundberg), and their two children, Grey and Lowe.

For the outing Lively was dressed in a pair of mom jeans, a black rollneck jumper, a Gucci belt and black lace-up boots.

Reynolds, meanwhile, wore a green shirt, dark grey jacket, blue jeans and a pair of Nike Blazer Mid Off-White All Hallow's Eve trainers designed by Abloh.

Following Abloh’s passing several of his biggest fans have come forward to share loving messages about the 41-year-old founder of the streetwear label Off-White.

Bella Hadid was among the first of his friends to post photos of herself and Abloh during the course of their friendship.

‘We’re gonna miss you a lot V . You really saw me and supported me on every level. As you did to so many of us. An ethereal light. You always inspired to keep pushing, work hard and be kind, [sic]’ an excerpt of her post read.

Hadid’s sister Gigi similarly shared photos of her and the designer, noting: ‘I picture him now like our Mickey Mouse .. forever with us, forever adored, forever magical, forever guiding us with that special Virgil FUN; I’m sure that’s how he wanted to be remembered, but still it will never be the same without him in the room. [sic]’

Model Hailey Bieber also shared a never-before-seen photo of her and Abloh following one of her wedding dress fittings. The designer was the creative brain behind the 24-year-old’s lace wedding gown, worn to her 2019 nuptials to Justin Bieber.

‘I will never be able to fully express how grateful I am to have known him and worked with him, from walking on his runways to having him design my wedding dress and all the other amazing moments in between, I felt he was always rooting for me [sic],’ she noted in her Instagram post.

The models’ friend Kendall Jenner shared her own tribute on Instagram, describing Abloh has one of the ‘the kindest, most positive, humble, joyful, and full of light person’ she’d ever known.

Days after Abloh’s death the fashion world gathered in Miami, Florida to watch Vuitton’s SS22 collection.

On Tuesday the likes of Kim Kardashian, Joe Jonas, Kanye West and Rihanna gathered outside the Brutalist Miami Marine Stadium.

‘Like all of you, Virgil’s passing remains inconceivable to me,’ Michael Burke, the Vuitton’s chief executive, said at the beginning of the presentation. ‘He was born the same year as my oldest child, and I considered him like a son.’

At the end of the night, Abloh’s voice was heard overhead: ‘Life is so short that you can’t waste even a day subscribing to what someone thinks you can do, versus knowing what you can do.’

The sky was then illuminated in fireworks spelling out Abloh’s name.
