CHARLEVOIX COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Northern Michigan ski resorts are preparing to open for the winter season.
Even though the area has experienced relatively warm temperatures, that isn't stopping Boyne Mountain Resort in Charlevoix County from opening Friday morning.
The resort will be open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Friday is only open for season pass holders, Ikon pass holders and guests of the resort.
Saturday and Sunday will be open to the rest of the community.
If you are closer to Emmet County, sister resort Boyne Highlands is following the same schedule for opening weekend.
Daily lift tickets can only be purchased online for this season.
After opening weekend, the resorts plan to close to work on snowmaking.
They will reopen daily for the season on December 10.
