After going virtual in 2020, the Christmas Light Show in Wall is returning to live performances this holiday season.

The popular grassroots event, run by local engineering whizzes, will conclude Sunday, Dec. 19 at Spring Meadow Golf Course after the Dec. 11 show was rained out. Two shows will take place that evening, starting at 5 and 7 p.m., and run about 25 minutes each.

The event remains free, with suggested donations of $25 per family and $10 per adult individual benefiting RallyCap Sports, a Middletown-based nonprofit that sponsors sports programs for special-needs children.

“We’re happy to be able to provide an outdoor event for family and friends during these COVID times,” said Dan Brateris, a Wall native and NJIT professor who is the show’s lead producer.

One new twist: “We’ve added color-changing CO2 effects to the show,” Brateris said.

Attendees are asked to arrive 20 minutes in advance. Parking is available on site.

Each year brothers Brian and Dan Brateris, and others display a Christmas light show choreographed to music Wall Township.

Allaire Community Farm light show

Also in Wall, Allaire Community Farm is hosting a Christmas Lights Spectacular most nights through Dec. 30. The 25-acre farm — which draws an estimated 150,000 visitors per year, from animal lovers to farm-market patrons to people with special needs, veterans with PTSD and families battling cancer who take part in its “nurture through nature” therapeutic programs — has been illuminated by a professional lighting company.

Open from 4:30-9 p.m., the event includes a hayride, fire pit and holiday music. Hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and apple donuts are available for purchase.

Tickets are $15 and must be purchased online at https://lightsinwall.com. No walk-ins are permitted. Group rates are available by contacting (333) 877-7770.
