Bardillo approaches Jamie. He feels awkward about complaining about Eddie but says she is too bubbly for him. He's sure Eddie has been complaining at home. Jamie says he put them together because they can learn from each other. Bardillo thinks he's learned all he needs to know.

Anthony meets shady cousin Joey and has a lot to say about him being a rat. He and Danny want Joey to help them. Joey has laundered money for the Double Tres but has lost some of it gambling on crypto. Joey is afraid of being killed if he becomes a CI. Anthony threatens to arrest Joey. Joey starts praying in Italian. Anthony tells Danny to get Joey out of here.

Erin meets her friend Lisa, who claims Erin hasn't changed in 10 years. Erin is surprised it's been that long. Lisa has remarried after her husband died. Anyway, Lisa wants to talk about Erin's potential DA run. She can get people elected. She is sure she can help Erin win.

Meanwhile, Frank has a problem: a pro-police group has used clips of Frank's speeches to make it seem like he supports their agenda. Frank wants it shut down. Garrett says that'll piss off a lot of cops across the country. They should ignore it. Frank wants a statement made that he is not associated with this group. He doesn't want words put in his mouth, period.

Eddie comes to see Jamie. She complains about Bardillo. Jamie tells her to make it work. Eddie feels that this is not working. Bardillo will not learn people skills. Jamie wants them both to stop complaining and do their jobs.

Frank watches the video the POP group has made. It makes it look like he is the leader of the group. Garrett tells him making a statement created more negative attention. Sid finds out the leader of the group is a decorated cop who thinks he is doing them a favor. Frank wants to meet with him. Garrett disapproves. Abigail agrees with Garrett, who thinks they should just ride it out. Frank says again Quinn doesn't get to put words in his mouth.

Danny meets Joey in a bar. He owes Anthony a drink. Anthony says Joey is more trouble than he's worth. He hopes Danny will take care of Joey. Joey is a scumbag but also took care of everything when their grandma died. He's an idiot with a heart. Danny doesn't understand why Anthony doesn't help look after Joey and suggests they team up.

Lisa starts a background check, asking Erin a lot of personal questions, including who has she dated, who does she see, what does she do on the weekend, etc. Lisa says career alone doesn't win you office. People need to know who Erin really is.

Quinn comes to see Frank. Quinn is honored by being invited up. Frank says this isn't a social visit. Frank tells Quinn he has been doing his talking for him. Quinn claims he is just quoting Frank and Frank is taking this wrong. He says it's like Frank quoting Teddy Roosevelt. Quinn thought Frank would appreciate him giving a platform. Frank says Quinn's actions are out of bound. Quinn says he took a bullet and then people were railing against cops. Frank says that's not the issue. He wants Quinn to stop using him in his ads. Quinn tells him to come on his podcast as he has nothing to fear from the truth.

Danny and Anthony tell Joey what to do. Joey is nervous and forgets the code word until Anthony yells at him.

Joey talks to a mobster who says Joey has a price on his head. Anthony is shocked to learn that Joey stole from his grandma after she died. Anthony starts freaking out. Joey tries to get the name of the trigger man. The guy gives him a name and tells him to get out of here.

Erin goes to lunch with some guy she knew from law school. He says she never went to parties at college. He wonders what she wants and why she invited him to lunch. She asks if he likes her. Mike says he is married with a kid. Erin didn't mean it that way. He says oh in t at case yeah, though he doesn't really know her. She always put her career first so relationships fade away.

Anthony starts beating Joey up. Joey says Grandma was dead. Danny breaks them up but Anthony won't stop. Joey wants witness protection. Danny says they have to get Burns first.

Barillo doesn't understand why Eddie stops for red lights instead of flashing her lights to go through. They are interrupted by the radio announcing a robbery in progress two blocks away.

Eddie thinks they should wait for backup. Barillo won't listen and goes inside. Shots fired.  Barillo has all three perps on the ground somehow.

Eddie wants to report Barillo, though he insists he accidentally discharged his gun and got them three perps. He tells her to rat him out to her husband. Jamie shows up and Eddie stomps off.

Anthony asks what's going on with Erin. He's excited that she's considering running. She's upset because she needs to be more likable to run. Would he spend time with her if they weren't paid to do so? Anthony asks if she is having a midlife crisis. She says apparently her friendships and marriage fell apart because of her career. Anthony says this is the life she has chosen. Erin wonders if she made a mistake.

Frank asks Garett how long they've worked together. Eventually he tells him he is going on Quinn's podcast. Garrett thinks this is a bad idea. The guy is the Joe Rogan of ex-cops. Frank doesn't care. Garrett complains that Frank never listens to him and walks out.

Eddie doesn't want to talk to Jamie. Jamie says he'll address Badillo's misbehavior. Eddie says Badillo shouldn't even be a cop. Jamie says that Badillo's first partner was killed in front of him five years ago and Badillo has never held onto a partner since. He says when he lost his partner he didn't want people pitying him. Eddie thinks she should know that her partner is a walking case of PTSD. Jamie says he's sorry he didn't tell her sooner but he wants her to help Badillo.

At dinner, Pops is talking about his intense bridge games that he's begun participating in. Everyone teases him about how Maryanne must like him because she baked cookies and pies. Erin says nobody comes to dinner who is not related by marriage or blood, unless they are other cops. She thinks they keep to themselves. Jamie says it's a family dinner, family business. Erin is sorry she said anything but says she's fine. Danny asks if this has to do with her changing her mind every other week about running. Erin says she is getting the lay of the land. Frank thinks it's enough shop talk for one night.

Anthony and Danny watch a mob guy hold Joey at gunpoint and demand his money. Joey has the wrong code word but Anthony gets it. However, Joey is kidnapped before they get out to him.

Anthony and Danny track the van Joey is in. Anthony doesn't want to wait for backup. They find the vehicle is empty. They go into the warehouse it's parked at. Anthony confronts Joey and the kidnapper, who pushes Joey away and tries to shoot Anthony. There is a shootout and Joey gets shot but is okay thanks to the vest. He says Anthony owes him one. The perps are arrested.

Lisa talks with Erin, who feels exhausted. This personal stuff is throwing her off. Lisa knows Erin had lunch with Mike. She says if Erin can't deal with personal questions she is not ready to run. Being judged is the reality of office. Erin says she worked her ass off to get here and sacrificed a lot. Lisa says sacrifices can be hard to relate to unless Erin communicates about them. She doesn't think Erin can win and returns her retainer.

Garrett tells Frank that he knows it's a waste of time to talk him out of this. He has info -- Quinn's injury report was doctored. Frank can use this against Quinn. Quinn comes in just then. He is sure they can have a constructive difference of opinion. Frank tells him about the incident report. Quinn didn't think Frank would stoop to character assassination and says Frank gave him the medal and will come off as a chump. He needs to talk to his producer before having Frank on his show. Garrett guesses Frank was bluffing. Frank is sure Quinn won't give up his mission but he won't have Frank.

Eddie show Barillo that a street is named after his old partner. Eddie tries to find out why Barillo can't hold onto a partner. He says she's not his therapist. She says can you do this job or not? She tells him about Jamie losing his partner.

Anthony shows up a bit drunk already and tells Erin that Lisa doesn't know what she's talking about. Erin is ready. Erin thinks he's just trying to make her feel better. He says that's what friends do but it's also the truth. Is she coming to have a drink or not?
