The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe release date has been locked in -- and it looks like developer Crows Crows Crows means it this time.
If you haven't heard of The Stanley Parable, it's a wonderfully surreal adventure game that just loves to break the fourth wall. Although this game was first released all the way back in 2013, the developers have decided to make an "Ultra Deluxe" version to further enhance the experience.
First announced in 2018, the Ultra Deluxe version of the game originally intended to launch in 2019. Then, it was delayed to 2020... and delayed again to 2021. Now, the devs have finally locked in a release date. You can probably guess where this is going -- The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe has been pushed back yet again to 2022.
As is typical of Crows Crows Crows, it released a self-aware trailer mocking its own sliding launch date schedule.
"What does it mean to be a video game developer?" the trailer's narrator said. "It means lying boldly and brazenly to your audience, promising them release dates that are wildly outside the realm of reality. And when that promised release date has turned out to be a lie, you'll double down even harder on the next wildly-unrealistic release schedule. 'Don't worry,' you'll tell them, 'this is the one for sure.'"
Naturally, Crows Crows Crows is doing just that: the new release date is the one for sure and there will very definitely be no further delays or other issues that will push it back. Probably.
When is The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe Release Date?
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe release date will be sometime in Early 2022. A more specific release date has not yet been announced, but let's be real -- there's no way anyone could be sure that it'd actually arrive.
