Former UFC champion Nicco Montano was the victim of a violent assault on Tuesday in Texas. TMZ posted updates on the case and Montano revealed the details on her Instagram page.

“Via TMZ– 8:53 AM PT — Austin PD tells us they took a report for an alleged assault with injury, family violence early Wednesday morning. No one has been arrested up to this point. The case remains open.”

Nicco Montano claims the man responsible for her assault is football player Justin Watson. The former UFC fighter revealed the details of what happened.

“Tonight [he] stood on my neck and stomped my face [and then] kept kicking me and shoving my hair into his fist and the corner of the bed frame,” Nicco wrote.

“I got away for a second to run down the hall (naked) screaming for my life as he tried to drag me back by my hair.”

“Luckily someone from the hotel heard my screams and came to my rescue.”

The details of what happened are very disturbing. More will certainly be revealed in the future as the investigation continues.

Nicco Montano was released by the UFC during the summer of 2021. She had not fought since losing a unanimous decision to Julianna Pena back in 2019.

Nicco Montano was the first champion of the UFC women's flyweight division. She won the belt against Roxanne Modafferi, winning by unanimous decision.

It is not clear what is next for the former UFC champion for the rest of her MMA career. She certainly has bigger things to worry about before making a return.
