‘The Masked Singer’ Star Faith Evans Thought Her Skunk Costume Was Sexy

On Wednesday night, Faith Evans was revealed to be Skunk on Season 6 of The Masked Singer. The Grammy-winning R&B singer made it all the way to the Finals of Group A, but she was beaten by Bull, who will now move on to the finale.
After being unmasked, Evans talked to host Nick Cannon on his talk show. The 48-year-old shared why she joined the show, as well as the interesting reasoning behind her choice of the Skunk costume.
‘Masked Singer’ Star Faith Evans Shares Why She Chose Skunk
Evans said she chose to appear on The Masked Singer because “it looked like it was a fun show to do,” but she didn’t anticipate how much work would be involved. She added that she hasn’t been in the spotlight in recent years because she’s been focused on her son Ryder, who is on the autism spectrum.
“I’ve been kind of dealing with a lot of legal stuff with the school district,” she shared. “I had a pretty decent idea of the schedule to put things in place for my son, so I said, ‘Why not?'”
As for why she chose the Skunk costume, Evans said she thought it had “an edge of sexiness.” You might not normally think that about an animal known for smelling bad, but Evans made the character totally glamorous. She added, “And because I’m biracial, I was thinking, you know, the black, the white.”

Evans Isn’t Ready to Get Back into Music Yet
Cannon asked Evans when we can expect new music from her. Her last solo studio album was Incomparable in 2014. Evans shared that she “might put out a single or two,” but she just doesn’t have the schedule to work on a full album right now.
“Until everything is in place for my son, I can’t really commit to that right now,” Evans explained. The singer has struggled with finding proper schooling for her son, and she founded the organization Ryder’s Room Inc. to help give back to children with special needs and the people who care for them.
Evans said it “felt great” to hear such positive feedback from the judges about her voice, adding, “Just to know that my tool didn’t need too much sharpening. It was easy to knock the cobwebs off.”
