Local filmmaker will present documentary on famed rock keyboardist Chuck Leavell this week at the Little Art Theatre

A film about one of the best rock musicians you have never known you've listened to is coming to Yellow Springs this week. Chuck Leavell: The Tree Man, directed by local filmmaker Allen Farst, is a documentary detailing the career of Leavell, keyboardist with the Allman Brothers Band, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, and many more, as well as his life as an accomplished tree farmer and conservationist. Farst spoke with Excursions host Evan Miller ahead of the film's screening at the Little Art Theatre about the film, stories from the its creation, and his career.

Allen Farst's Chuck Leavell: The Tree Man will be screening at the Little Are Theatre in Yellow Springs on Thursday December 2nd at 7 PM, with a Q&A with Farst to follow. More information can be found at LittleArt.com and ChuckLeavellTheTreeMan.com.

Evan Miller is a percussionist, lover of sound, and is probably buying too many cassette tapes online right now. Evan got his start in radio in 2012 at WWSU at Wright State University, where he was studying percussion performance. He followed through with both endeavors and eventually landed a lucrative dual career playing experimental music at home and abroad, and broadcasting those sounds to unsuspecting listeners Sunday nights on The Outside. Maintaining a connection to normal music, Evan also plays drums in bands around the area, and hosts WYSO's Midday Music show. When not doing something music-related, Evan is most likely listening to podcasts or watching food videos at home with his cat.
