UPDATE:

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. -- All lanes on Highway 98 are back open after being shut down due to a crash Thursday night that resulted in a apparent muriatic acid spill.

Both directions of travel on Highway 98 and County Road 283 opened back up at 9:22 p.m.

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. -- A possible muriatic acid spill Thursday night has shut down the eastbound lanes of Highway 98.

Walton County Sheriff's Office is on scene, which includes a multi-vehicle crash at US Highway 98 and County Road 283.

A commercial vehicle carrying hazardous material was involved in the crash.

Walton County Emergency Management and Florida Highway Patrol are on scene.

Authorities advise that everyone avoid the area and use alternate routes.
