SJHN Daily: Evander Kane Wins Custody, Gun Video Surfaces

The drama continues with San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane.

On Wednesday night, Evander Kane’s estranged wife Anna Kane posted a video on her social media page showing what appears to be Kane raising a gun in the air and then allegedly pointing it at her. Anna Kane claims the gun was loaded and called Kane a “psychopath” on her social account.

Dan Milstein, Evander Kane’s new agent, issued a statement last night regarding the video, claiming that it was part of a professional photo shoot.

Evander and Anna are currently undergoing a custody battle.

Shortly before the video was released, a hearing in the Evander Kane divorce case concluded Wednesday morning in Santa Clara County family court. The judge ordered Anna Kane to undergo a psychological evaluation. Evander Kane remains the custodial parent of their 16-month-old daughter, according to a report from A.J. Perez of Front Office Sports.

Anna Kane responded later that night, after releasing the gun video, on Instagram Stories.

She also released an audio recording, dated November 2020, where she pleads with Evander Kane to not hit their child. In the same recording, Evander Kane can be heard saying he did not strike their child.

Kane was waived by the San Jose Sharks last month and assigned to the San Jose Barracuda.

The 30-year-old winger practiced with the Barracuda for the first time at Solar4America Ice Tuesday morning and spoke with members of the local media. Kane will not travel with the Barracuda when the team faces the Abbotsford Canucks this weekend.
