Three puppies were rescued from a crash site thanks to an officer with a keen ear. The Louisville Metro Police Department posted a picture Thursday on Facebook of an officer with a trio of very small puppies, eyes still closed. They're so tiny, he could hold all of them in his two hands.The post says the officer responded to a crash last month in the 1st division when he heard "unusual noises."What he found were "sweet little pups" zipped up in a backpack.They said the driver involved in the crash had narcotics on him and had outstanding felony warrants.Police said the officers tried to find the mother of the puppies, as it appears they are still small enough to feed, but she was nowhere to be found.The puppies were taken to a veterinary clinic which volunteered to bottle feed them.Police did not say what will happen to the puppies but did say they named them after the streets near where they were found: Ali, Larkwood and Madison.
