Marcus Stroman officially signed with the Chicago Cubs just before the MLB lockout began, and on Wednesday, the soon-to-be newest Cub took to Twitter to thank his former team and fan base.
Stroman has never been shy about interacting with fans and the media on Twitter – he perhaps infamously revealed last month that he didn’t think the Mets wanted him back – but the Long Island native’s message was one of thanks for the Mets staffers and fans who supported him for 2 ½ years:
Stroman also spent a good chunk of Wednesday retweeting, replying, and quote-tweeting well-wishes from fans in New York, Chicago, and elsewhere, including this exchange with radio play-by-play legend Howie Rose:
Stroman inked a three-year, $71 million deal with the Cubs on Tuesday, which he announced himself on Twitter.
