Evanston Academy teacher arrested, accused of permitting drug use
A teacher with Cincinnati Public Schools was arrested Thursday, accused of permitting drug use.
Laura Morand was taken into police custody at Evanston Academy, charged with one count of permitting drug use.
A statement from the district reads, "We are aware that a teacher was taken into police custody at Evanston Academy today. The incident was not related to anything that happened on school grounds. We are cooperating with the Cincinnati Police Department and have no additional information at this time."
According to an affidavit, Morand — who lives in Deer Park — "knowingly allowed her residence ... to be used to commit a felony drug offense."
Documents state that narcotics were recovered at her Clifford Road home on Nov. 2.
Officials with the Norwood Police Department that a 19-year-old man was also arrested in connection to the case.
Authorities have released few details on Morand's arrest. WLWT is working to learn more and will update this story as details become available.
