UPDATE (4:51 p.m.) - Santa Maria police arrested Joseph Charles Tobin, 44, of Santa Maria, following a standoff where he was barricaded inside his home on E. Cypress Ave.
Officials said they received a call about domestic violence. When they arrived, officers found two siblings, including Tobin, were physically fighting.
When officers arrived, Tobin went inside the home and barricaded himself.
At about 4 p.m., officers entered the home, where Tobin surrendered to police without incident.
He was arrested on parole violation and on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities say the deadly weapon was Tobin's hands and feet.
His bail has been set at $30,000.

UPDATE (4:12 p.m.) - By 4:05 p.m., police had detained the man who had been inside the house. Our KSBY crew on scene said that the man was put into a cop car.
Police remained on scene.

UPDATE (3:53 p.m.) - At about 3:50 p.m., police officers were seen making an entrance into the home.
Authorities have not confirmed additional details with KSBY at this point.

Santa Maria Police are responding to a barricaded subject in Santa Maria, officials said Thursday afternoon.
Officers and several patrol cars were on scene by around 2 p.m.
Officials are strongly urging community members to avoid the area around the 700 block of East Cypress Ave. Nearby residents are asked to stay inside their homes.
