CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The man shot in the leg at the Oakley IHOP now faces charges in that incident. Gionni Dews is charged with carrying concealed weapons, discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises and tampering with evidence.
Dews got into an argument with someone at the restaurant on Nov. 26 on Geier Drive at the IHOP, according to court papers. That argument turned physical.
He also allegedly fired multiple shots at a vehicle with two people inside. Neither of them was hurt. That vehicle was taking Dews to the hospital.
Jones was arrested and charged with felonious assault for the shooting.
Witnesses told police that Dews also fired a gun from across the parking lot and a bullet went through the restaurant window.
Dews jumped in a car with another person and refused to stop for police, according to court papers. Police said they saw an item being thrown from the passenger window of the car which landed on I-71 at the Dana Avenue exit ramp. Police were able to find the gun.
The gun was matched to shell casings from the IHOP shooting. Police also say the gun had been modified to fire fully automatic.
Dews is locked up on $110,000 bond.
