UPDATE: Woman, 53, found dead in leaf pile outside home apparently collapsed

A man found a body late Wednesday night in a leaf pile outside a Ridgewood home, police said.

The resident called 911, and officers and paramedics responded and determined that the person, identified as a 53-year-old Ridgewood woman, was dead, according to a statement from the Ridgewood Police Department.

The woman’s death was not suspected to be criminal in nature, investigators said.

The incident remained under investigation Thursday by the department and the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office, authorities said.
