With Elvis Merzlikins and Jonas Korpisalo both dealing with non-COVID illnesses, the Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled goaltender Daniil Tarasov from the Cleveland Monsters on an emergency basis for Thursday night's matchup with the Dallas Stars.
The 22-year-old Tarasov has a 9-4-2 record with a 3.04 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in 15 games with the Monsters since making his debut a the end of the 2020-21 season.
So far this season, the native of Russia is 5-2-2 with a 2.96 goals-against average and .897 save percentage.
The Blue Jackets have also activated EMil Bemstrom off injured reserve after missing the first 20 games of the season.
Columbus will look to snap a two-game skid when they take on Dallas at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
