WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Marathon County Judge Michael Moran has set a sentencing date for the woman found guilty of killing her husband more than a decade after the crime happened.
Cindy Schulz-Juedes will return to court on March 18th for a 9 AM sentencing hearing. She faces a mandatory life sentence, only the possibility of parole will be discussed that day.
Schulz-Juedes was found guilty of killing Ken Juedes in 2006 following a 12-day trial that wrapped on October 26th. Jurors deliberated for about four hours before returning the verdict.
Her defense team had tried to pin the murder on a group of five other individuals, saying they wanted Ken dead over the details surrounding the sale of a race track. She also claimed they were afraid Ken would expose illegal drug activity among the group.

Prosecutors in the case had pointed to numerous factors including a perceived lack of remorse from Schulz-Juedes in the time following Ken’s death, and a more than $1 million cash and asset windfall she received following Ken’s death.
Schulz-Juedes did testify in her own defense during the trial.
