The University of North Dakota Athletics Department has teamed up with Real Good Cookies, a Grand Forks based cookie baker and CLC, the university’s exclusive brand licensing company, to announce the creation of Sweet Victory, the official cookie of Fighting Hawk athletics.

“We’re excited about this partnership with a locally based Grand Forks small business on this unique consumable product,” said UND athletics director Bill Chaves. “Thank you to multi-time UND graduate Sarah Horak and Real Good Cookies for working with us to give our fans another way to experience our university and athletic teams.”

Sweet Victory is the latest in the line of consumable products announced by UND. Within the last 13 months, UND has partnered with Bully Brew Coffee House on two officially licensed coffees, Hawks Blend and Champions Blend. Prior to the coffees, other consumables in the marketplace are Champion Chip ice cream available at Hugo’s and Fighting Hawks wine available at Hugo’s wine and spirits and Happy Harry’s Bottle Shop.

“UND has been a leader in licensing consumable products with unique ties to the Grand Forks community, and we are proud to be a part of helping them bring these products to market,” said Cory Moss, CEO of CLC. “The Sweet Victory cookie is a great way for Fighting Hawks fans to connect with their favorite team while supporting the university.”

Real Good Cookies is also a corporate partner through Fighting Hawks Sports Properties, the exclusive multimedia rights holder for University of North Dakota Athletics.

About Real Good Cookies:

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to temporarily close their Grand Forks restaurant, Nick and Sarah Horak knew they were going to have to be creative to weather the storm. When they were able to reopen their restaurant for to-go service only, they started with a small menu but created as many “up-sells” as they could think of to try to increase every ticket – including the bittersweet chocolate chip cookies they had put on their menu a year prior. It didn’t take long before they started receiving orders just for the cookies. After adding half pound cookies to the menu, the cookies continued to sell out again and again. By the end of 2020, it was apparent the cookies needed their own brand and their own space. So in early 2021, Sarah started Real Good Cookies and by May she built out a separate commercial kitchen in downtown Grand Forks. Sarah and her team have made and sold over 60,000 cookies and have shipped Real Good Cookies to all fifty states in the USA.
