Tomberlin wrapped up her year in shows at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre on Saturday night (12/2). Ahead of the show, she said it might be her last one “for awhile as I hide away to continue writing;” she and her band played a set largely made up of songs from 2022’s fantastic i don’t know who needs to hear this, along with some material from her 2020 EP Projections, and one song, “Any Other Way,” from 2018’s At Weddings. Certain restaurant chains make so much sense, and yet, for one reason or another, slowly vanish, and by the time you realize something happened, the chain has disappeared. You might remember Ponderosa, where you could purchase access to an all-you-can-eat buffet and top it off with a $0.99 steak on top of it. Of course, the steak tasted and chewed, very much like a dollar steak would, but for many, it held a special place with them. Other restaurant chains have gone by the wayside around Phoenix, but one has slowly started to crawl back, and its return to Arizona is right around the corner.
