Library announces teen group activities

Teen Groups are continuing to meet at the Minden Branch of the Douglas County Public Library though December.

Writer’s Block will continue to meet on the first Friday of every month from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Each month the group will focus on a different element of creative writing such as character development, setting, tone, and more.
The Art Guild will meet on the second Friday of every month from 3-4:30 p.m. and make artistic creations around each month’s theme. For Dec. 10, the theme will be a Three-Marker Challenge. Participants will randomly select three markers and create artwork based on that palette.
The Council is replacing the Teen Advisory Board and will meet on the third Wednesday of every month from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The library invites teens to assist us in the planning of future programs… and pizza. The Council advises the library on teen programs while playing a game or two in the process.

Beginning in January, the Stardust Crusaders Tween Anime Club will have their first meeting. The group will meet on the third Tuesday of every month from 4-5 p.m. This club is intended for tweens ages 8-12.
Also beginning in January, The Irregulars will meet 3-5 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of every month. Teens can solve a variety of mysteries with your fellow sleuths and perhaps even follow in the Great Sherlock Holmes’ footsteps while doing so. Participants may find themselves solving a live-action murder mystery or perhaps a board game.

The Weekend Warriors will continue to meet on Saturdays from 2-4:30 p.m. to play tabletop role-playing games campaigns. Prior knowledge of the current systems is not needed to play.
