Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Zeedan Nazir will be left shocked later this month, when his estranged wife Marrium shows up in Weatherfield.

The character, who is played by Qasim Akhtar, returned to the cobbles earlier this year after splitting from his partner. Following some probing from his supiscious sister Alya (Sair Khan) and grandmother Yasmeen (Shelley King), he went on to reveal that Marrium's domineering father Hashim (Vincent Ebrahim) had been threatening his life.

The truth was a little more complicated, though, because when Hashim arrived to confront Zeedan, it became clear that the latter had stolen money from the former. Desperate for Zeedan to pay back what he owes, Hashim has since instructed him to launder money through Speed Daal on his behalf.

In next week's episodes, viewers will also see him suggest burning the family restaurant down and claiming on the insurance. Zeedan is appalled, but when Hashim suggests burning down Yasmeen's house as a second option, he begins to contemplate the idea.

While it's yet to be confirmed whether Zeedan has a change of heart, or Hashim took matters into his own hands, Speed Daal ends up in flames regardless. But Zeedan's problems amplify when Marrium (Kiran Landa) comes a-knocking while he's redecorating the place.

She demands an explanation in regards to recent events, to which Zeedan argues that it was Hashim who started the fire as an act of revenge. Then, she surprises him by asking for his help.

Later, while going over the family's paperwork, Marrium tells him that she doesn't hate him anymore and he's still the decent man she married. Is there still hope for their relationship?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, December 13, Tuesday, December 14, Wednesday, December 15 and Thursday, December 16 at 7.30pm on ITV.
