High speed pursuit starts in Idaho ends with arrest in Oregon

BAKER/MALHEUR COUNTIES- Tuesday afternoon Oregon State Police attempted a traffic stop the resulted in a pursuit along I-84.  The following information was related by Oregon State Police on this incident.


“On 11/30/2021, Oregon State Police attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The operator was known to be the suspect of an aggravated assault. After a brief pursuit in Idaho, the vehicle returned to Oregon. Oregon State Police attempted a traffic stop on I84 near MP 373 WB. The vehicle attempted to Elude, driving in excess of 110 MPH. As the driver attempted to negotiate a curve near MP 340 I84 WB, he lost control departing from the lane of travel and colliding with a guard rail. After a brief standoff the driver was taken in to custody without incident. The driver was transported by OSP to the hospital, where he was evaluated and medically cleared. The driver was then transported to Malheur County Jail where he was lodged on the warrants, attempt to elude, and reckless driving. The vehicle was recovered by Roadrunner towing, Baker city.
