When Leon (Noel spelled backwards!) came to the shelter in March as a stray, no one would ever guess that this special guy would still be here nine months later.

We think he’s about four years old and a shepherd/retriever mix. We do know he’s fifty-nine pounds — smart, playful, and gorgeous. He rides well in the car and is patient in the bath.

Leon loves to train and is very food-motivated. He knows sit, down, stay, and he’s crate-trained. He recently went on an outing with two volunteers and had a great time.

Leon is clever and quick, but he also enjoys relaxing. In short, he’s the whole package, and who wouldn’t want a package this beautiful under their tree!

If you love shepherds and love to train, Leon is the dog for you.

Give yourself (and Leon) a special gift this Christmas season – a “furever” friend and a loving companion
