Queen Elizabeth has been facing numerous challenges since the start of the year. Her Majesty lost the love of her life, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on April 9 at 99, just two months before his 100th birthday.

The husband of Queen Elizabeth spent weeks in the hospital being treated for an unspecified infection and underwent a medical procedure for a pre-existing heart condition. In October, the British Monarch entered the hospital for tests, which forced her to cancel her visit to Northern Ireland on the advice of her doctors.

Queen Elizabeth’s shocking admission raised concerns, especially on her health condition given her advanced age. Despite all the quandaries she had dealt in the previous months, a royal expert claimed that Her Majesty is very unlikely to “step back.”

Is Queen Elizabeth Giving Up Her Role?

Royal expert Victoria Arbiter, during an interview with Australian outlet 9Honey, believes that Queen Elizabeth remains dedicated to her role after making it through the most difficult days of her life. She said:

“Subtle in nature, the changes have been all but imperceptible to the public but each has been implemented in an effort to relieve the burden on an aging monarch and to ensure a smooth eventual transition from mother to son. In the wake of Prince Philip’s death, however, many wondered if she’d consider taking a more significant step back. But rather than opting to formally retire, it’s become readily apparent she remains as devoted to her role as ever. Despite being accompanied by Charles and Camilla, the removal of the consort’s throne from the central compartment served as a poignant reminder of her devastating loss.”

Arbiter also claimed that Queen Elizabeth hated working from home since the COVID-19 pandemic started. The royal expert stated:

“Having largely been alone, the run of activity served as a welcome tonic for the newly bereaved Queen. It’s no secret she loathed lockdown and the isolation that came with it. She likes to be useful and she thoroughly enjoys meeting people from all walks of life.”

There have been speculations that Queen Elizabeth might consider giving up her role amid her fragile health condition. There were even reports saying that Prince Charles and Prince William are very much willing to take over should Her Majesty finally decide to abdicate.

Queen Elizabeth has yet to comment on the reports claiming that she would be stepping down as monarch soon. So, devoted followers of Her Majesty and the royal family should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
