HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford Police are currently investigating a homicide Thursday morning in the area of 158 Magnolia St.
When responding officers arrived at 27 Enfield St. at 11:20 p.m., they conducted a thorough canvass of the area and didn’t find any evidence of a shooting.
30 minutes later, dispatch received a call from a citizen who located a victim, 22-year-old Devonte Downer, suffering from gunshot wounds near the rear end of Magnolia Street, just one block away.
Life-saving measures were applied by officers and responding EMS before transporting the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
