A week after announcing the birth of his first child, Aaron Carter has ended his relationship with his fiancée, Melanie Martin, and accused her of committing a "devastating betrayal" against him.

Carter, 33, who became famous as a child performer, apparently got mad at Martin because she contacted Angel, Carter's twin sister. The rapper and singer said that his fiancée knew he didn't want them to maintain a relationship with his own family.

In a series of posts on Twitter, Carter called out his twin sister for ruining his family. He also hinted that he and Angel are currently involved in a court battle.

Turbulent Relationships with Melanie and His Family

Carter and Martin have been together for almost two years before she gave birth to their firstborn, a boy they named Prince via cesarean section. However, the couple has had some troubles in the past, with Carter calling on the cops on Martin because she choked him during a domestic altercation.

Three weeks after they broke up, Carter and Martin got back together and announced they were expecting a baby. By June 2020, however, Martin suffered a miscarriage. Following the baby loss, Carter and Martin shared on their social media pages that they had gotten engaged, and in March 2021, the pair announced they were expecting a rainbow baby.

Meanwhile, his twin sister obtained a restraining order against Carter around the time he started dating Martin. The former pop star hinted when he announced the breakup that his family had been trying to put him in conservatorship for some time.

He said that he's devasted that the mother of his child has been conniving with his deceiving family. In an interview with TMZ, the "I Want Candy" singer accused his family of trying to "gain an ally" in Martin.

However, Carter's older brother, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter, told E! News that there is no truth to the conservatorship attempt. He and his wife, Lauren Kitt, haven't spoken to his younger brother for years. Just like Angel, he also filed a restraining order in 2019 due to threats made by his brother against him and his family.

"No one has any idea where Aaron is getting this from," Nick said, referring to the conservatorship accusations. Martin also said that she didn't get any sense that this was what the Carters planned for her ex.

Prince Will Be a Priority

Meanwhile, Carter said Prince would be their priority as new parents despite the split in a separate post on Twitter. Martin plans to move to Las Vegas. The Instagram model, who was born in Bulgaria, worked as a bartender and owned a lash bar in Los Angeles.

Carter also said he would be a single dad to his son. He added that Prince doesn't deserve what happened to his family, but this will be his life from now on.
