REDDIES REPORT
- The Reddies picked up a big non-conference win just before Thanksgiving when they outlasted Pittsburg State 59-57 last Wednesday in Arkadelphia. Despite shooting just 35% from the floor, HSU got 18 points from Malik Riddle and saw its bench outscore the Gorillas 35-12. It was the second win of the year for Henderson over MIAA competition.

- Everyone continues to chip in for Henderson offensively as the Reddies boast six players averaging eight or more points: Riddle, Alvin Miles, Franck Kamgain, Quawn Marshall, Xavier Davenport and Andre Washington. Eight different players have taken over 20 shots for HSU this season, but only Riddle has taken 40 or more (44).

- HSU has been phenomenal as a team at the free throw line through five games and is shooting 78.4%; a mark which ranks 11th nationally among teams who have taken 100 or more shots at the line this year. Henderson has also been excellent at defending the 3-point line and is holding its opponents to 28.1% shooting (34-for-121) from beyond the arc. That mark ranks Top-40 in all of NCAA DII.

- The Reddies have struggled against UAM in recent years. The Weevils have won 13 of the last 14 matchups and upended Henderson five times last season, which included eliminating the Reddies in overtime in the GAC Tournament semifinals. HSU's last regular season win over Arkansas-Monticello came on Feb. 13, 2016. The Reddies' last victory in the series came during the quarterfinals of the 2020 GAC Tournament when Henderson stunned UAM 89-83 in overtime.

SCOUTING UAM
- Arkansas-Monticello comes into Thursday's contest 4-2 overall this season under the direction of first-year head coach Chad Tapp. Tapp came to UAM following an eight-year stint as the head coach at Lyon College, where he led the Scots to a record of 119-113.

- The Weevils have almost an entirely new team this season after the departure of former coach Kyle Tolin, who left for UT-Permian Basin. Seven former UAM players transferred to UTPB in the offseason and only one player from the Weevils' 2021 GAC title team remains on the current roster: sophomore guard Cole Whitaker.

- UAM's top scorer this year is junior guard Ray Price, a transfer from Lyon College. Price averages 15 points per game and has been stellar from both the field (55.6%) and the 3-point line (55.6%). Fellow guard Richard Feagin Jr. averages 14.8 points per game and gives the Weevils a potent one-two scoring punch in the backcourt.
