McCarn
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — Kenley McCarn scored 23 points and Kaitlyn McCarn added 12 to lead the Melbourne Lady Bearkatz to a 53-29 win over the Central Arkansas Christian Lady Mustangs on Monday night in the CAC Classic on Mustang Mountain in North Little Rock.
Abbie Lawrence hit a three-pointer and Kaitlyn McCarn put in a basket before Kenley McCarn scored hit on three field goals driving to the basket and made a three-pointer to lead Melbourne (4-0) to a 14-6 first quarter lead.
McCarn was unstoppable inside with four more baskets in the second quarter. Lawrence hit another three-pointer and added a free throw, while Kaitlyn McCarn put her second basket and Ashtyn Kimble made one-of-two free throws for a 29-13 halftime lead for the Lady Bearkatz.
Lanie Cornelius put in two baskets, Kaitlyn McCarn scored two more buckets and Kenley McCarn added two scores inside to boost the Melbourne advantage to 41-18 by the end of the third quarter. McCarn added another basket, Kimble and Cornelius both made three-pointers and Kaitlyn McCarn made two baskets in the fourth quarter for the Lady Bearkatz.
Melbourne outscored CAC in the paint 24-8 and outrebounded the Lady Mustangs 28-25 with both McCarns having eight boards each to lead the team. Kaitlyn McCarn had seven steals as the Lady Bearkatz forced 19 Lady Mustang turnovers in the game.
