COLLEGE PARK, Md. —
The University of Maryland honored perhaps the greatest athlete to ever attend the school Wednesday night at their home men's basketball game against Virginia Tech.

Len Bias, the No. 2 pick of the 1986 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics, died from cardiac arrhythmia induced by a cocaine overdose just two days after being drafted.
UMD chose to honor Bias Wednesday after he was recently selected to the College Basketball Hall of Fame.
The school gave away replica gold Bias jerseys to the first 4,000 students who entered the game and the Terps players wore Bias shooting shirts during pregame warmups.

Bias was a two-time All American and a two-time ACC Player of the Year during his time in College Park. The Terps fell to the Hokies, 62-58.
