Another member of the Irish staff that reports claim Brian Kelly is trying to take to LSU, defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman.
However, his name is also one of two names we have consistently heard as being one of the primary targets for Kelly's job.
Along with Freeman, is Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell. Fickell has indicated in the past that Notre Dame would be one of his "dream jobs".
Fickell is the only coach other than Brian Kelly, to win at Notre Dame Stadium in the last four years.
But right now, Fickell has his own conference championship game to focus on. When he was asked Tuesday, about the speculation that he is a target for Notre Dame, here's how he answered.
""I don’t know what there is to address,” Fickell said. "Like I said or a guy who keeps his head down and very rarely answers his phone, I don't talk to a lot of people, so there is nothing. That's the crazy thing , there is no speculation. Is the (Notre Dame) job open? I guess it is. But I wouldn’t know if somebody didn’t tell me. Most importantly, all I care about are the guys that sit in these seats, to be honest with you, to make sure they know what's most important to all of us. And to make sure we've all got to find ways to keep our minds focused on the things we've got to be able to do."
