Providence man admits to false use of SSN to defraud RI Food Stamps, Medicaid programs

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Diomedes Ramirez Rodriguez, 48, pleaded guilty to false representation of a Social Security number and other documents belonging to another person to gain $39,023 in health care benefits from RITE care, Rhode Island’s Medicaid Managed Care Program occurring from March 2014 to August 2020.

From March 2017 to August 2020, using the same Social Security number, Rodriguez applied for and was approved for $7,342 in SNAP benefits from Rhode Island Department of Human Services.

In March 2018, Rodriguez falsely stated that he was a United States citizen when applying for and receiving a Rhode Island identification card from the RI DMV.

Rodriguez is scheduled to be sentenced on February 28, 2022.
