Rochester community recognizes World AIDS Day

Monroe County is helping the AIDS community with hope and healing.

An AIDS memorial quilt panel is now on display in the Monroe County Office building to commemorate World AIDS Day.
Several events were available Wednesday for Rochester families and community members to learn more about the day.
One local event at the Memorial Art Gallery allowed individuals to learn more about specific cultures, communities, and events through performances, presentations, arts and crafts, and more.
President Joe Biden also unveiled his new HIV/AIDS strategy aiming to prevent new infections and improve outcomes for people living with the virus.
The goal of the plan is to end the HIV epidemic by 2030.
