SHIRLEY —The 18th annual Candlelight Vespers program “Tidings of Comfort & Joy!” is back for another holiday season.

The program will take place at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Shirley Meeting House, located at 41 Brown Road.

In the peaceful setting of the meeting house, guests can relax and listen to holiday poems by E.E. Cummings, J. R. R. Tolkien, Edgar Guest, Robert Frost, John Mason Neale and Dr. Seuss.

There will also be a few holiday songs sung too. The musical selections include traditional as well as new arrangements of carols heard throughout the holiday season. The chorus, under the direction of Bernard Crane, will be accompanied by Elenye Ghenatos-German on piano.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. to the majestic sound of holiday songs and carols on the Stevens Tracker Organ, performed by Lois Toeppner.

Admission can be paid in the form of a donation to the Shirley Meeting House. Masks must be worn by all attendees.
