The Most Likely Russell Wilson Trade Destination

Wilson’s agent said that his client would prefer to go to the New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders, Chicago Bears, or Dallas Cowboys.

While other teams may have interest in Wilson this offseason, a team from his own list stands out the most.

That would be the Saints.

An Open Opportunity

The Saints were in great shape with Jameis Winston under center this year.

Then he suffered a season-ending injury at a time when the team was 5-2.

They are now 5-6 and Taysom Hill is expected to get his shot in the starting role after the struggles of Trevor Siemian.

While the Saints do have blind faith in Hill, he does not seem like the ideal option as a long-term starter.

His best spot is in a gadget role where he earns a fortune and does not have to do all that much.

This leaves an opening for Wilson, regardless of Winston’s status for 2022.

The team could even retain Winston as a highly-paid backup, unless another team signs him away.

The Bears have Justin Fields, the Raiders have Derek Carr, and the Cowboys are set with Dak Prescott.

If Wilson’s list holds firm as it did in the offseason, the Saints remain the obvious landing spot.

The only way this conversation changes is if the Seahawks make a run to the postseason and based on how they are looking, that would be a true miracle.
