A mum has been left amused and slightly suspicious after her youngest child requested a moon boot for Christmas.

The youngster asked Santa for the medical boot - which is usually prescribed by doctors to help relieve fractures in the foot and ankle - prompting her mum's curiosity.

'God knows what she is planning. What is the weirdest thing your kids have asked for?' the woman asked, alongside a photo of a moon boot.

One woman said her six-year-old asked for toilet paper and was over-joyed when Santa came through
Others admitted their kids also asked for medical aids - with one requesting a wheelchair because she couldn't be bothered walking

And the answers didn't disappoint - with many mums revealing their kids have also requested medical equipment from time to time.

'My six year old daughter asked for crutches last year, they were hard to find but the look on her face when she opened them on Christmas morning made it worth it - she still plays with them from time to time,' one mum said.

One mum explained her daughter had once asked for a wheelchair because she 'didn't want to walk' and a hearing aid 'so she didn't have to put effort into listening'.

The same child also asked for a live mermaid and a live fairy for Christmas at some point.

And she wasn't the only youngster who wanted something alive for Christmas.

'Every year my daughter asks for a Mexican red-kneed tarantula for Christmas, pity Santa can't give pets,' one woman said.

Another boy asked for his own brioche loaf, 11 years ago, and still gets one each year - he is 17

While another revealed her daughter asked for a 'cow which acts like a horse' because she was told a 'pony would be too much work and figured a cow would be easier'.

Other strange objects kids have requested include a tunnel for the backyard, a big ladder so they can climb as high as the ceiling and a roll of toilet paper.

'My six-year-old was thrilled when Santa got him toilet paper, he rolled it down the stairs and up again, it became a road and a volcano,' one mum laughed.

Another woman's four-year-old son asked for a high-vis vest and wet-floor sign.

Another revealed her daughter asks for a red-kneed tarantula every year

'He was so excited when he opened his presents and both gifts were there.'

Some of the quirky gift requests have become tradition.

'My son asked for his own brioche loaf when he was six, he is 17 now and we get one for his each year,' one mum said.

The list of quirky requests had parents roaring with laughter - and set the mum who posted the picture of the moon-boot at ease.
