Bocanegra: Atlanta United receiving “quite a bit of interest” in Ezequiel Barco

A few end-of-season updates on possible transfer interest.

The offseason is upon us, which means Silly Season is rapidly approaching. With the various transfer windows set to open in January, speculation around Atlanta United players possibly leaving is ramping up. Ezequiel Barco is predictably the hottest commodity on Atlanta’s books and has been the target of “quite a bit of interest” from other clubs, Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra revealed during the team’s end-of-season conference call on Wednesday.

George Bello is another name that has been brought up as a possible departure this offseason. Bocanegra confirmed that there has been interest in Bello as well. Rumors earlier this year linked Bello with a possible move to Turkish giants Galatasaray but nothing materialized.

Contrary to popular belief, Miles Robinson may not be as much of a candidate to leave the club this winter. Bocanegra admitted that they have yet to receive any offers for the U.S. international centerback.

As we all know, what the club publicly states about transfers and possible interest and what actually happens is never the whole story. Anything can happen when the transfer window opens, but this is the most recent updates we have as to what to expect come January. Let’s see how it all shakes out.
