Walt Disney World is About to Get Its Own Official Florida Holiday!

There are plenty of Disney-themed holidays out there!

The 50th Anniversary was a big deal!

Whether we’re celebrating the anniversary of a hit Disney film or a milestone for a theme park (like we just did with Disney World’s 50th Anniversary), there are things to celebrate year-round. And now, another Disney World-specific holiday is being added!

According to Click Orlando, Orange County, Florida is set to declare December 3rd “Walt Disney World Day.” The special proclamation will take place on Friday, presented by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings and Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer. Disney World President Jeff Vahle will be on hand for the occasion.

After the presentation, Walt Disney World VoluntEARS, leaders, and local government officials will take part in a service project at Second Harvest Food Bank, where they’ll sort and package food. This isn’t the first time that Disney has contributed to the community in recent months — for the 50th Anniversary, they donated $3 million in grants to six different Central Florida nonprofits.
