Shang-Chi Deleted Scene Reveals Character's Shocking Connection to Razor Fist

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was a huge success at the box office and received positive responses from both audience and the critics. It is also the MCU film with the highest audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It just shows that Shang-Chi's introduction in the franchise was indeed a hit and a sequel is inevitable to happen at some point.

Now that the film is available in home media, everyone has the access to watch it anytime and we now also get to have our hands on the deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes featurettes. It is normal for films to have deleted scenes as they have to trim down some sequences due to pacing or changing how the story plays out.

One of the deleted scenes of Shang-Chi featured a very interesting detail about Razor Fist which would have changed the dynamic between him and Shang-Chi. In the final version of the film, there's a scene where Shang-Chi, Wenwu, Xialing, and Katy were having dinner in Wenwu's compound where they discussed their family issues and history. However, in the deleted scene, an alternative version of the scene has Razor Fist included in the dinner in which it revealed that his name is Mattias and Wenwu took him since he reminded him of his son. You can watch it here:

If the deleted scene was included in the film, it would have changed the dynamic between Shang-Chi and Razor Fist as it would mean that they are brothers of a sort. But in the final version that we saw, Razor Fist was just simply the right-hand man of Wenwu and a member of the Ten Rings without any mention of any familial type of relationship at all.

It's up to you whether you think it's good or not that the deleted scene remained on the cutting floor, but it is a very significant detail about Razor Fist that would have a ramification on his dynamic with Shang-Chi. There's also another deleted scene in the film where Razor Fist could have faced a different fate in the climax, instead of what actually happened to him in the end during the final version. Either way, there's no denial that Razor Fist became one of the standout characters in the film and fans would love to see more of him.
