Family members have confirmed with CBS12 News that the man killed Tuesday night in an apartment fire in Delray Beach, is Jean Alesy, 60.

Firefighters responded to 943 S.W. 20th Court around 10 p.m. for reports of an apartment on fire.

Family members of Alesy say there were four people living in the unit where the fire broke out. They say only two people were inside the apartment at the time of the fire.

Firefighters pulled the body of a man from an apartment and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Delray Beach fire rescue says another resident sustained a foot injury after jumping from the second-floor balcony to escape the fire.

The American Red Cross is assisting nearly 30 people displaced by the fire.

The Delray Beach Police Department will conduct an investigation into his death, and the state Bureau of Fire, Arson, and Explosives Investigations will investigate the cause of the fire.
