Authorities are reporting that they believe a woman who was found dead inside her home, may have been shot through the sliding glass door.

45-year-old Karesha Brissett was found dead on Tuesday after a friend of hers showed up at her home when she did not show up for work.

The woman noticed the back patio door shattered and flagged down a delivery driver who ultimately contacted police.

When authorities arrived, they found Brissett dead in one of the rooms.

Authorities are also reporting that they discovered 13 shell casings on the patio of the home and that they believe Brissett was shot through the door without the gunman ever entering the home.

Sgt. John Dellacroce reported that they believe this was a “targeted crime and not a random act of violence.” He also reported that though there is an increased police presence in the area,  investigators are “not currently looking for a suspect in the immediate community.”
