NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Forwards:
Jake Guentzel (Pittsburgh) - W - $8,100 (FanDuel), $7,300 (DraftKings), $27 (Yahoo)
Guentzel has amassed six goals and five assists during a 10-game point spree going into Wednesday’s matchup against Edmonton. He has compiled 43 shots on goal during that span, while supplying four power-plays (two goals, two assists).
Chris Kreider (NY Rangers) - $7,000 (FanDuel), $5,800 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Kreider has potted 15 goals in 20 games this season, while ranking second in the league with nine markers on the power play. He concluded November with eight goals, two assists and 30 shots in 10 outings. Kreider and the Rangers will look to add to Philadelphia’s struggles this season.
Drake Batherson (Ottawa) - W - $6,100 (FanDuel), $5,100 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Batherson will be back in the lineup on Wednesday from COVID-19 protocol, which will provide a big boost to the Senators. The 23-year-old forward leads the team in assists (9) and points (16) this season over 14 appearances. Batherson also ranks second on Ottawa with seven goals.
Chandler Stephenson (Vegas) - C - $5,200 (FanDuel), $4,700 (DraftKings), $19 (Yahoo)
Stephenson has found the back of the net in three straight games going into Wednesday’s matchup against Anaheim. The Ducks played the night before and went to a shootout against Los Angeles, so Vegas could take advantage of a tired team. Stephenson, who centers the top line between Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone, leads the Golden Knights with 12 assists and 20 points through 21 games.

Makar has big cap hits across the board, but his hot streak to close out November makes him an intriguing option. He has racked up seven goals and five assists during a six-game point. Makar has provided nine markers and 19 points in his past 12 outings. He has 37 shots on target and eight power-play points (one goal, seven assists) during that stretch.

Shesterkin has been outstanding this season, while posting a record of 11-3-2 with a 2.22 goals-against average and .933 save percentage. He stopped 54 of 57 shots in wins over the New York Islanders and Boston Bruins to close out November. Philadelphia has gone winless in six games (0-4-2) and the team ranks 26th in the NHL in goals for per game played (2.45).
