New York-based Mexican fine dining chain Rosa Mexicano plans to open its first Connecticut location at Blue Back Square in West Hartford, the company announced this week.
The new eatery will be located at 51 Isham Road, opposite the Cheesecake Factory, company officials said Tuesday. The restaurant is expected to open to diners in the spring of 2022.
“We are so excited to become an integral part of West Hartford’s Blue Back Square,” said Jim Dunn, CEO of Rosa Mexicano Restaurants. “Vibrant, sophisticated and diverse, this community is a seamless match for the ‘elevated fiesta’ Rosa Mexicano has offered its guests since 1984. We look forward to warmly welcoming everyone who comes to see what our special brand of Mexican fine dining is all about.”
The restaurant space at 51 Isham Road was formerly occupied by gastropub chain Bar Louie. The hybrid restaurant and bar shut down in Jan. 2020, around the same time its parent company filed for bankruptcy.
Rosa Mexicano has locations in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maryland.
